As many have heard, Florida Power and Light is considering "undergrounding" its electrical power cables in Morningside, at its own expense.
Many of you have also received requests for Underground Easements in your mail from FP&L.
As a result, there has been a lot of discussion and confusion about the advantages and disadvantages of undergrounding, and whether such easements should be granted.
In response to this new development, the Morningside Civic Association has arranged for FP&L to attend its June 11, 2019Board Meeting, to be held at its usual time and location - 7:00 p.m. at the Morningside Park Clubhouse.
FP&L will be putting on a presentation with intent to educate and inform the community about the pros and cons of undergrounding and provide an opportunity for residents to have questions answered directly from knowledgeable FP&L representatives.
There will be ample opportunity to continue the discussion after this meeting, but this will be the best opportunity to have the community's concerns addressed collectively.
